Deborah Leliaert

Deborah Leliaert retired in 2018 after more than 35 years of higher education, non-profit, and business leadership. As Vice President of University Relations and Planning for University of North Texas, she held executive responsibility for shaping image, reputation, engagement and growth through strategic planning, integrated marketing communications, media, public relations, crisis and issue management, and brand management. She retired as the first-ever Vice President Emeritus for the university of nearly 40,000 students and has consulted for other institutions. Prior to higher education, Deborah held vice president level positions in financial syndication and financial services firms. She is certified in mediation and dispute resolution and has held board positions in a number of non-profit organizations including North Texas Public Broadcasting and the Children’s Advocacy for Denton County. Deborah has a BA in journalism/public relations and a M.ED in Counseling.
