Lisa Ellis joined the Santa Fe Council on International Relations as Executive Director in February 2022. A senior strategic communications, fundraising, education and international affairs professional, Lisa has worked with non-profit organizations to advance global health, education, human rights, press freedom, international development, and more. Lisa was the Marketing and Communications Director for TIDES, a philanthropic organization dedicated to shared prosperity and social justice. She also served as Director of Global Communications for International Medical Corps, a humanitarian agency on the front lines of global crises. As Program Director for the International Center for Journalists, Lisa conducted worldwide journalism training programs. She also has worked at Colorado College, for The Freedom Forum, at the U.S. Information Agency, the U.S. Embassy in Moscow and for Voice of America. Ellis has a BA degree in Russian Area Studies from Colorado College and a MA degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
