Dee Smith

Gordon Dee Smith is the founder and CEO of Strategic Insight Group (SIG), a global intelligence and advisory firm. Over the course of his career, he has advised on more than $120 billion in investment transactions and led projects spanning geopolitical analysis, transactional intelligence, and strategic risk assessment across the finance, technology, defense, energy, retail, transportation, and healthcare sectors.

Before founding SIG, Smith headed a venture capital firm that facilitated European investment in Latin America, served as an intelligence contractor for the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and founded the international NGO InterCultura. He currently chairs the Advisory Board of the LLILAS/Benson Latin American Studies and Collections at the University of Texas at Austin and serves on the boards of several foreign policy and international affairs organizations. Smith is also a member of leading global affairs institutions, including the Council on Foreign Relations, Chatham House, and the Bretton Woods Committee. He was the co-creator, host, and producer of A World on the Brink, a documentary series examining geopolitical risk and global change.
