Youth Leadership Diplomacy Program

Global Santa Fe, founded in 1965 is an education-based non-profit that inspires conversation around critical world issues, cultivates citizen diplomacy, facilitates cultural exchange as part of the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program, and most importantly, we invite high school students to engage in growing their citizen diplomacy skills and offering them the opportunity to practice those skills both at home and abroad.

With polarization and division around the globe at an all time high, it has never been more important for the leaders of tomorrow to gain a global perspective, build diplomacy skills and nurture attitudes that will equip them to tackle both the local challenges and global issues of the 21st Century.

Global Santa Fe’s Youth Leadership Diplomacy Program Pilot bridges an educational gap in the state, focusing on global topics relevant to the local area while fostering skills and knowledge through a unique educational experience participants will not receive anywhere else – elevating global awareness & opening doors of opportunity for the next generation of citizen diplomats in New Mexico.

Youth Diplomats will build skills and expertise that better equip them to problem solve here at home. They will gain relationships & wisdom through intergenerational exchange and they will be exposed to new possibilities for travel and career paths, broadening the perspective of their place in the world and increasing their sense of confidence about the future.
